Generator Safety & Fuel Tips
NEVER run indoors. Carbon monoxide (CO) is invisible and odorless. CO kills within minutes in an enclosed space. Always run outside, at least 20 feet from windows and doors.
Minimum fuel reserve: Store enough for 72 hours of continuous use at minimum.
Gasoline goes stale in 3–6 months without fuel stabilizer. Add Sta-Bil at each fill-up and rotate stock.
Propane stores indefinitely when properly sealed — the best fuel for long-term storage.
Diesel is more fuel-efficient than gasoline and stores 1–2 years with a biocide additive. Better for high-demand use.
